PaperCut MF version 26.0.5 introduces a Full Embedded application for Brother BSI-compatible devices. This update brings a modernized Home Screen experience and Integrated Scanning capabilities to Brother MFPs, aligning the Brother user experience and licensing structure with other major copier brands.

Commercial & Licensing Guidance

License Types & SKUs

1. Brother Full Embedded SKU: Priced as a standard Full Embedded MFD license (aligned with other MFD brands).
2. Brother Printer Only SKU: Priced as a Single Function Printer (SFP) license.

Quoting & Contract Rules

• New Quotes & Active Opportunities: New functionality (Integrated Scanning & Home Screen) requires the new Full Embedded SKU. Existing quotes for legacy embedded licenses do not automatically protect or convert to the new pricing structure.
• Renewals: Existing renewals remain on standard terms unless the customer requests an upgrade to the Full Embedded app.

Existing Customer Impact & EOL Timeline

• Legacy App End of Life (EOL): The legacy Brother “Device Type” is marked EOL upon the release of PaperCut MF 26.0.5.
• Support Window: PaperCut will support the legacy Brother application for 12 months post-launch before complete removal. See the Device End of Life policy for more information.
• Customer Migration Path: Existing customers updating to MF 26.0.5 are not forced to migrate. To adopt the new functionality:

1. Purchase the Brother Full Embedded License.
2. Uninstall the legacy device application from the device/server.
3. Install the new Brother BSI application following the standard deployment guide.
