Configure manual printer discovery

If you are not running auto printer discovery in your network, it might be necessary at times to run a manual scan of the network to detect new printers and make them available to your end users. This gives you the ability to enter in the IP address for the new printer on your network

  1. On the admin console, go to Printers.
  2. Scroll down the page to the list of your printers, then on the right, click the Discover a printer button. The “Discover a printer” popup is displayed.
  3. Enter the new printer IP and click Continue. The “Which edge node should search for the printer?” popup is displayed.
  4. Next choose the edge node you want to use to detect the printer from the list and click Start discovering.

The system will now scan the network for the chosen printer. If discovered it will appear in your printer list for activation.
