Importing User's home folder from non-standard fields in Active Directory
PaperCut introduced Integrated Scanning for PaperCut MF in version 15.3. Using this functionality, users can scan documents to predefined folders or email addresses. To make it easier to scan to user’s home folder, this information is imported in PaperCut automatically when using Active Directory as the sync source. This information is available under the “User Details” page. See screenshot below:
By default, PaperCut imports user’s home folder information from standard Home directory field in AD. In some organizations, they store this information in alternate fields in Active Directory, and would like these to be imported into PaperCut to use it with integrated scanning.
To configure PaperCut to import the Home folder from a different AD field:
- Login to the admin interface.
- Select the
Options
section, then theUser/Group Sync
tab. - Select the LDAP user source. For detailed instructions on LDAP setup see the manual.
- Apply the changes and perform a test to ensure your LDAP configuration is working as expected.
When using PaperCut’s LDAP as the sync source, user’s home folder information can be imported from certain fields. You can set the ldap.schema.home-directory-field
fields to change the AD field that is used to retrieve this information from LDAP.
