KB Home | Exporting and importing Job Ticketing data
“Why does my imported order data look strange?”
Order data exported from Job Ticketing is encoded in UTF-8. UTF-8 is widely used to accommodate for “non-standard” characters.
When using MS Excel to import data, the encoding used is defined by the OS, which depends on the locale and other settings. To ensure that order data is imported into Excel without corrupting characters, perform the following steps:
From within Excel, under the ‘Data’ tab, click on ‘From Text/CSV’
Select the csv export containing Job Ticketing order data info
In the next step, under “File origin”, select the ‘UTF-8’ encoding option
