Cross Platform Print Experience

Managing print across different operating systems is complex. PaperCut MF unifies the process into one simple, secure, and consistent workflow for every user and device.

It all starts with the user’s natural workflow. There are no new habits to learn. A user simply prints a document from their application of choice, just as they always would. It’s a native printing experience across all major platforms:

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Chrome OS
  • Android
  • iOS

The user experience is seamless and intuitive, no matter what device they use to start the job.

To learn more, see the PaperCut Mobility Print overview.

Deploy the right printers, automatically

For company-managed devices, Print Deploy gets the right print queues and drivers to the right person. It saves huge amounts of IT time and eliminates helpdesk calls.

Set up print queues once in your central admin console. Print Deploy then automatically installs them for users based on their location or group membership. When a user moves from the main office to a branch office, their available printers update without them having to do a thing.

For the full guide, see the Print Deploy manual.

Make printing easy on personal devices

For personal and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenarios, Mobility Print makes setup a breeze. Users can discover and install printers on their own in just a few clicks, with simple, OS-specific instructions.

Mobility Print also includes a Cloud Print feature. This lets your users send print jobs securely over the internet when they’re working from home or another remote location. There’s no need for a complicated VPN. Jobs are sent via an encrypted, peer-to-peer connection directly to the printer.

To learn more, see the Manual page on Mobile and BYOD printing.

Offer simple, driver-free guest printing

What about visitors, contractors, or anonymous users who just need to print once? Web Print is the perfect solution. It’s a driver-free printing option that works from any device with a web browser.

Users simply log in to the PaperCut web portal and upload their documents. Web Print handles the processing for all common file types, like PDFs, Microsoft Office documents, and images. It’s a quick and easy way to provide printing access without any installation or configuration.

Release your documents securely at any printer

No matter how the print job was submitted, from a managed laptop, a personal phone, or a guest’s browser, the final step is the same. The job is held in a single, secure virtual queue.

The user can walk up to any printer in the building, log in with their ID card or PIN, and release their document. This “Find-Me printing” workflow ensures confidentiality, because documents never sit uncollected on the output tray. It also reduces waste and gives users the flexibility to pick up their printouts wherever is most convenient.
