PaperCut MF - Known Issues with Recent Releases

This page lists known issues or bugs with the most recent PaperCut MF releases. The aim is to arm administrators with information about problems in the current release and where possible mention work-arounds or methods to mitigate the issues.

There is a separate known issues article here for issues that apply to all editions of PaperCut. This page focuses specifically on unique PaperCut MF features relating to copier control, embedded MFD software, and hardware integration.

Device Specific Known Issues

For issues specific to given devices see the following links:

General PaperCut MF Issues

Payment integration at release stations may stop working until restarted (resolved in 12.1.16778)

After logging into a release station with payment integration a red error message about a session timeout may appear at the top of the screen. The error message contains "Invalid server session. Session must be re-initiated". When this happens, payment integration stops working until the station is restarted. If you encounter this issue a patch is available; please contact support for details.

Card/ID logins to release stations in version 12.0 (resolved in 12.1.16778)

Card or ID based logins to the PaperCut Release Station software (standalone software only) may fail with a yellow warning message. A patch is available to resolve this issue. To apply the patch:

1. Download pc-release-12.0.jar.
2. Replace the existing file by the same name at [app-path]/release/lib.
3. If you have locally installed release stations, also replace the file by the same name on the workstations.

Please contact support if you require assistance.

Print job redirection and Find Me Printing in version 12.0.16338 (resolved in version 12.0.16353)

PaperCut version 12.0.16338 can cause problems when print jobs are redirected between print queues (e.g. load balancing or find-me printing). A fix for this problem will be available ASAP.

Konica Minolta Embedded (resolved in 11.4)

In some circumstances a user's copy jobs is being logged up to 24 hours after they performed the copying. This issue is fixed in the 11.4 release.

Access to VCC Cash Acceptor Details page (resolved in 11.3.14286)

It may not be possible to access the VCC Cash Acceptor details page in version 11.3 (14184). We have a patch available to fix this issue. Please contact support to get access to this patch.

Konica Minolta bizhub C35 Embedded

Tracking scanning is not currently supported on the bizhub C35. Please inquire with support about a timeline.

We'll be continuing to work with Konica-Minolta to resolve these issues and hope to have support for this device as soon as possible.

HP Embedded (resolved in 11.2)

We have had reports that some HP devices running PaperCut and making use of USB card readers can report "Error 49" errors which require the device to be rebooted. We are working with HP to resolve these problems. Initial indications are that some devices/firmware versions have a memory leak that is triggering the "error 49". HP is investigating.

We have made some changes to our HP embedded application that improves this and dramatically reduces occurrences of this problem. To get access to this updated version please contact support. Please include in your email the HP models affected, the firmware versions and whether you are using USB card readers connected to the HP devices.

Copicode-IP terminal - versions 10.1-10.2

When using the new MyID cards and setting a card length and start position, if a swiped card has a smaller length the swipe reader could stop working until being power cycled. The keypad would still continue to function. This issue will be resolved in the next release. A patch is also available for 10.1 and 10.2 and may be installed according to these instructions.
