Founded in Florence in 1950, Giunti Psychometrics is the first Italian publisher of psychometric tests and tools. The company develops and publishes science-based psychological assessments that support specialists’ work in mental health, talent management, school orientation, private organizations, and the public sector.
Sustainability is one of the pillars upon which Giunti Psychometrics is founded. For years the company has focused on social and environmental responsibility, not only within its strategic plan but also in the culture it spreads through its own products and services.
This commitment extends to its daily activities to follow practices that respect the environment and people. Recently this resulted in a specific program that focuses on the control of printing activities with the aim of reducing printing costs and paper consumption.
Their goals for the program were clear:
- Reduce printing costs
- Use a serverless solution
- Promote a conscious approach to sustainable printing
Reduce printing costs
Giunti Psychometrics wanted to reduce printing costs. To help achieve this, they looked to rollout company-wide policies such as double-sided printing and—for basic jobs such as email printing—black and white printing.
Their print partner Copyworld scheduled a demo of the market-leading print management solution PaperCut MF, of which Copyworld has been an authorized reseller for years.
PaperCut‘s portfolio of solutions allows workplaces to centrally manage and monitor the printing environment, set policies and rules, both at the individual user and workgroup level, and protect company data and documents through specific security features such as the secure printing release with PIN or company badge.
However, Giunti Psychometrics were committed to exploring a serverless solution, which led Copyworld to suggest PaperCut’s newest solution, the cloud-based PaperCut Hive .
A serverless solution
Given the impossibility of installing the solution on the company server, a POC (Proof of Concept) was carried out with PaperCut Hive, of which Copyworld is certified both for pre-sales and post-sales’ technical activities.
Unlike PaperCut MF, PaperCut Hive does not require a dedicated IT infrastructure, thus reducing maintenance and management costs. Furthermore, thanks to the SaaS formula (Software as a Service), Giunti does not hold any initial investment, but only a subscription fee that allows them to always have immediate access to the latest features, including:
- ability to print anywhere and from any device
- no limit of users
- print release via PIN or smartphone, and more.
Thanks to these advantages, the POC ended positively, and the solution was extended to the entire Giunti Psychometrics print fleet.

Promoting a conscious approach to sustainable printing
“The solution allows us to be attentive to the environment and waste,” continues Tommaso. “Of particular interest to us are the forecast indicators on paper and toner consumption. The logs also allow us to retrieve all the details of the device activities.
“Finally, we also had the approval and appreciation from the legal department as the solution makes us GDPR compliant.”
