  • Print Provider (CUPS): Fixed a rare issue that may cause print redirection to fail if print job attribute modification (for example, watermarking, grayscale conversion) is enabled. [PC-18789]
  • Print Provider (CUPS): Fixed an issue that caused newly added printers to not get registered with PaperCut when automatic registering is enabled using EnablePrinterAutoImport configuration key. [PC-18788]
  • Print Provider (iPrint): Fixed an issue that caused printer redirection and hardware page count to fail when using iPrint version 4.2 and above. [PC-18745]
  • Integrated Scanning: Prior to 22.0.3, scan actions that have any document processing feature (OCR, deskew, despeckle, blank page removal, batch splitting) deliver the scan file as PDF/A, even when the PDF/A checkbox isn’t selected in the scan action editor admin console. In order to preserve the PDF/A output, after updating to version 22.0.3, existing scan actions from previous PaperCut MF versions that have any of the aforementioned doc proc features will now have the PDF/A box ticked. If admin unticks it, the checkbox will now function and deliver the job as PDF instead of PDF/A. [SC-1194]
  • Integrated Scanning: Fixed an issue where scan file size is incorrectly calculated after going through document processing. [SC-1185]
  • Scan to fax: Scan to eGoldFax: Values in the “Recipient name” and “Company name” fields input by the end-user on the MFD are now output in the API call to the eGoldFax server. [SC-1231]

Copier / Device Integration:

  • HP OXP: Fixed an issue where HP OXP printers would not report copy jobs. [CDSS-1472]
  • Konica Minolta: Fixed a race condition on Konica Minolta devices where password logins would occasionally fail. [PC-18753]
  • Kyocera v3.2.2*:
    • Fixed an issue where eligible models (Metric models) that should be able to scan mixed sized media, would lose this feature after the device restarts. This information is now stored on the device hard drive and will be applied after a device restart. [PO-628]
    • Added a config key “ext-device.kyocera-mita.show-account-columns” to determine whether the Account Selection screen is displayed in one or two columns. A single column prevents data from being truncated. [CDSS-61]
    • Device logout timeout now resets on screen touches and key pad presses. Timeout is not reset by on screen keyboard key strokes. On newer devices using the WebKit browser, a two minute timeout is enacted while the on screen keyboard is raised so that users are not logged out while typing. On older devices using the NetFront browser, the timeout is effectively disabled while the on screen keyboard is raised. Regular timeout is reinstated when the on screen keyboard is lowered. [CDSS-1183]
    • Changed “Log to disk” to be disabled by default to minimize potential performance problems. [CDSS-1538]
    • Added config keys “ext-device.print-as-grayscale-by-default” and “ext-device.print-as-duplex-by-default” that determine the initial state of Change Print Settings options. [CDSS-1541]
  • Toshiba V3+: Fixed an issue that caused large PDF scan jobs to sometimes time out on Toshiba V3+ devices. [CDSS-1179]

Other notes:

  • This version contains a database upgrade.
  • Integrated Scanning: Removed the orange “Percolator Beta” tag from the PaperCut MF admin console under “Devices” > “Scan Actions” tab > edit or create a scan-to-email scan action > “Interactive Destination Mode” white box on the right-hand side. [SC-1257]

Build 62695
Print Provider version 109.2.0.5261
29 Jun, 2022

New Features:

  • PaperCut Grows integration for PaperCut MF: The PaperCut Grows program enables organizations to become Forest Positive. If it’s included in an MF license, a link to PaperCut Grows is displayed in the Environmental Impact widget in the PaperCut MF admin console. PaperCut Grows uses aggregated print activity data provided by the Application Server. [PC-18719]

Enhancements:

  • Email to Print - OAuth email server authentication for MS cloud email is now available. [PO-792]
  • Print Provider - Improved the start-up time of the Print Provider on Windows. [PO-649]
  • PaperCut Global PostScript print driver - Added ARM support and two new paper sizes (Envelope 10 and Envelope Com10). [PO-422]
  • A banner now displays to alert customers of upcoming and expired Maintenance & Support. [PO-670]
  • The character limit for the ‘Confirmation message’ field for the ‘Internal User Options’ configuration has been increased to 1000 characters. [PO-676]
  • Added server.cookies.session.same-site parameter to the server.properties file to set same-site and secure attributes for browser cookies. Setting this to “none” will add the attributes. Note that this must only be enabled if all communications are HTTPS. [PO-344]
  • Improved the Application Server’s performance when Debug is enabled. [PO-516]
  • Interactive Scan Actions: Now works with Site Servers while the site servers are online. Includes support for Cloud Provider Plugins such as PaperCut’s Copyright Compliance Automation plugin. [PO-753]
  • Added Advanced compression to Scan Actions. [PO-413]
    • For the PDF output file type, we’ve added the ability to compress the scanned documents.
    • There are three levels of compression available:
      • High compression - small file size
      • Medium compression - balanced quality / file size
      • Low compression - large file size
    • Please note that scan actions that have any document processing features (OCR, deskew, despeckle, blank page removal, batch splitting) will continue to output PDF/A file format, as in PaperCut MF version 21.x. See known issue PO-536 for more information.

Fixes:

  • Fixed a minor formatting issue on the Admin Rights page, next to the ‘Access device and site sections’ checkbox. [PO-723]

  • Enhanced the Azure Active Directory security in MF/NG. [PO-668]
  • Fixed a bug in the Web Services API method batchImportInternalUsers. Now, if not explicitly set, when calling this method the default is for new users to NOT be notified by email. [PO-7]
  • Fixed an issue that caused the cost multiplier of the selected account to not be applied when copying at embedded devices. [PC-18705]
  • Fixed a problem when setting up High Availability in a protected network that caused the connection to fail when the Application Server tried to connect to the MFD after the device was registered. [PC-18696]
  • Fixed a bug where Internal Users could not be renamed without also resetting their credentials. [PO-510]
  • The Environmental Dashboard now honours SSO logins, so after users log in with SSO credentials they don’t need to re-authenticate to access this dashboard. [PO-531]
  • Fixed an issue that caused yearly reports that were scheduled through the scheduled-reports.yearly-date config key to return data for 1 year + 1 day instead of the expected 1 exact year. Reports now return data for the exact 1 year period from the specified date value. [PO-394]
  • Device/Printer Names: Fixed an issue when renaming devices/printers that didn’t allow hashes to be used. Added tests for illegal characters when creating a device/printer name. [PO-685]
  • User Low Balance Notification: Fixed an issue where only positive LBN values were checked. [PO-512]
  • PaperCut Global PostScript print driver: Added two new paper sizes (Envelope 10 and Envelope Com10). [PO-415]

  • User Source - Azure AD: Renamed “Client Secret” to “Client Secret Value” to prevent ambiguity. [PO-696]
  • Login: Fixed the SSO login page to have the “or” option translatable. [PO-647]
