As more organizations move towards Windows Server 2008 R2, a recurring problem has presented itself in which jobs will disappear from the print queue with no obvious explanation in any of the logs recorded by PaperCut or the host operating system.
This is particularly apparent in environments utilising hold/release queues and environments with very high print volumes.
The precise cause of this behaviour is still subject to investigation and has yet to be determined, but by all accounts this is not due to PaperCut and its print job handling. The current solution to this problem is to change the isolation mode of the print server’s drivers.
Changing the isolation mode is already a recommended practice listed in the manual chapter regarding installation. Follow the instructions listed there to set the driver isolation mode to none.
