How to run Print Release Station on a Mac

THE PAGE APPLIES TO:

Print Release Stations place a print job on hold and allow users to release it when required. Often a Release Station is a dedicated workstation located next to the printers. This article covers how to run the Release software on a Mac. See our Print Release Tour page

Should I run the Release Station software from the Print Server or copy the Release folder to my Mac?

You can run the Release Station software from the central Server, and maintain separate configurations for each release station on the Server where it is easier to modify them all in case of changes. Alternatively you can copy the Release folder to the Mac workstation and run it from there. The folder location is at [app-path]\release

The installation process

The process to setup and configure the Release software on a Mac is similar to setting up a Windows Print Release station.

The first step is to browse to the release folder, which is under [app-path]\release
Here you’ll find the config.properties file which you can configure to suit your needs as shown here in our Standard Release Station Configuration article.

Then you are ready to run the Release software in full screen mode by running pc-release-mac.command script
