!!! When will my translations be available?
->In general, once the translations have been added to the translation tool they are manually added to the product in the next upcoming release, so keep an eye on our release history page. If there is a new version that has been released since the translations were added, the new release should include those translations.

!!! When are the translations available for PaperCut embedded devices?

->Translations for PaperCut embedded solutions might not be available in the upcoming release straight away. Some of the embeddeds need to go through a certification process before they can be included in the product. (i.e. Canon, Lexmark, Kyocera, Ricoh) The certification process can take a few months so the translations for those embeddeds are available once the respective binary for that embedded has been certified.

A full professional-level translation (excluding documentation) usually takes between 30 and 40 hours.  It’s a tedious process and one best done in a number of stages!

!!The Translation Process

The translation process involves the following tasks:

!!!Task 1 – System access
Contact PaperCut Sales team to obtain access to the translation system - WebTranslateIt.  The PaperCut Sales team can be contacted via @@sales@papercut.com@@

!!!Task 2 – Create an account with `WebTranslateIt
Sales team will send you an invitation to create an account with `WebTranslateIt. The email will come from `WebTranslateIt<do-not-reply@webtranslateit.com>). Once the account has been created you will be able to gain access to the  @@"PaperCut"@@ project.

!!!Task 3 – Translate
Click on  @@PaperCut@@ project and under @@Translations@@ tab, you will be able to see all the untranslated Strings
. These strings are presented in English and have blank text boxes for the translated equivalent.

!!!Task 4 - Testing

Testing translations is generally performed by PaperCut development staff as part of each release process.
There is generally no need for translators to perform this step and you may skip to Task 5.

If you want to review the translations before a release, PaperCut may be able to provide a build for you to review your work.

%red%NOTE: DO NOT PERFORM THIS STEP UNLESS INSTRUCTED BY PAPERCUT SUPPORT.%%  This testing step requires a specific version of PaperCut to be installed and can break an existing installation.

The translation may be tested by downloading the translated files.  It’s important that testing be performed on a test system and not a live installation.  To test:

* Download all JARS from the translation site

* Stop the PaperCut Application Server under [@Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services@]

* Move the files to an alternate location on the server’s hard drive (note that they must by moved out of the installation directory or they will conflict with the new files):
      [app-dir]/server/lib/pcng-server-*.jar
      [app-dir]/server/lib/pcng-common-*.jar
      [app-dir]/server/lib/pcng-server-*.war
      [app-dir]/server/lib/pcng-server-web*.jar
      [app-dir]/client/lib/pcng-common-*.jar
      [app-dir]/client/lib/pcng-client-*.jar

* Copy the corresponding files downloaded from the translation site into the directories:
      [app-dir]/server/lib/
      [app-dir]/client/lib/

* Start the PaperCut Application Server

* Login as admin and navigate to [@Options->Config Editor (Advanced)@]

* Use the Quick Find to locate the key: [@language.additional@]

* Add your two letter language code to this key and click Update.  (language code list)

* Log out.  Your new language option should be listed in the login screen's language options list.

!!!Task 5 - Review
Review translation and make any changes required.

!!!Task 6 - Ready for Release
Inform the PaperCut development team that the translation is complete so they can incorporate the translation into an official production-ready release.

!!!Task 7 - Other
It is also possible to translate the Windows installer program into the local language.  If you'd like to conduct this level of translation, please contact our development team at @@support@papercut.com.@@

!!!3. Testing

Testing translations is generally performed by PaperCut developers as part of each release. If you have special requirements then you may request a custom build of PaperCut that contains your updated translations by emailing PaperCut Support.

!!!4. Release

-->a) If the language you are translating into is already available as an option in PaperCut, your new translations will be available in the next release.

-->b) If you are translating into a new language, inform PaperCut Support when you feel that the translation is ready to release. A custom build of PaperCut will be provided that contains your translations. Once everyone is happy with the result the new language option can be made available in a public release.

!!!5. Other translation areas
It is also possible to translate the Windows installer program into the local language. If you'd like to conduct this level of translation (or other areas), please contact PaperCut Support.
