PaperCut NG is a fantastic product for non-profit organizations. It brings the control we need to reduce print and internet costs with along with ease of setup and administration. As a former manger in a document management company - I am recommending this product to my peers.
PaperCut's print quota and print charging software has been in continuous use in schools for over 10 years. Our upgrade policy has been consistent over this period. There are free minor point releases for all even those not subscribing to premium upgrade assurance. Major upgrades are released approximately every 12-months in the December/January period. PaperCut is always under active development and to keep our development team on their toes and away from the air hockey table, we ensure they release new features on average every 6 to 8 weeks.
We believe software is not something you install once. It needs to be under constant evolution and change to varying network conditions, user expectations and changes in technology. New print drivers come out every few weeks, more students have laptops these days and wish to have printer access via wireless services, and the list goes on!
