Senior Project Manager
Rick is the first member of the PaperCut Software team located in the United States. He started his career as a software tester at Ford Aerospace in 1979 testing a secure version of PWB Unix. After a few years in the big project environment Rick left the world of government contracts to pursue a career in an emerging commercial desktop computing industry.
During the boom years of personal computing Rick worked for several technology leaders including Novell, NEC, 3Com, and Nortel to develop customer support and sustaining engineering teams. His most recent role was establishing the technical support department for a Swiss classroom management software company.
Rick will work closely with customers and developers to assure that PaperCut remains the leading cross-platform print management software.
Technical Pre-sales Manager
Alec is a 30 year veteran of the IT industry. He started programming ICL mainframes using a 10cps teletype via a 300BAUD acoustic coupler (a fact he insists on telling the younger deveopers as often as possible) whilst still at school and his first proper job was programming embedded financial terminals in London. Since then he has worked in Europe, the Middle East, US, Asia and Australia managing, consulting and delivering various types of technical software products and services. At PaperCut Alec's skills are being used across a number of areas including project management, technical pre-sales and anything else that comes along. He joined PaperCut in late 2011.
Alec was an early adopter of Linux in the 90's, he founded the Greater London Linux User Group and organised the UK's 1st Linux conference. As well as computers he loves Star Trek (TOS rather than TNG) and sf generally, movies and Asian cuisine of most types. He is a terrible coffee and beer snob.
Jason has joined the PaperCut team in early 2010. He has filled varied roles ranging from Senior Corporate Support for Connect/AAPT to most recently as an IT Manager at Glen Waverley Secondary College. He has certainly been in the trenches when it comes to support!
Jason will be working closely with our developers and customers alike to improve on our already fantastic support. He has experience in the support of large and varied networks with both industry standard and specialised environments.
You will find Jason approachable and quick on the uptake. Outside of work Jason loves his tennis and photography.
Cari joined the PaperCut team in the middle of 2011. She has worked in information technology in roles from desktop support to help desk to Windows server administration. She is experienced working with both homogeneous and heterogeneous environments, and enjoys learning new technologies.
Cari discovered PaperCut while working on finding a print accounting solution for Portland State University. She recommended PaperCut to the IT staff and helped them with the installation and configuration. When Cari heard that PaperCut was hiring a technical support rep. in Portland she jumped at the opportunity to work with our team and help others achieve the same success with PaperCut that she helped to introduce at PSU.
Outside of work Cari enjoys learning a variety of languages (currently focused on Chinese, Japanese, Korean and refreshing her knowledge of Russian), and chasing her dogs around her yard.
Nate is one of the newest members of the PaperCut Software team located in the United States. Nate started working in the IT support field assisting users resolve technical and support issues for Dell, Inc. After leaving Dell, Inc. Nate has primarily provided technical support for organizations providing health care, such as Providence Health Systems, DSI, and FCG. Nate will be assisting Rick and Cari by providing technical and customer support to our clients.
Outside of work, Nate is an unrepentant bibliophile, spends his free time exploring the hiking trails surrounding Portland, and engaging in flights of megalomaniacal self-delusion.
Business Project Manager
Ian joined PaperCut 2011, bringing prior experience from various roles in the telecommunications, IT and construction industries. His strengths combine a strong technical background supported by stints in systems administration and IT consulting with an proven approach to more business-orientated responsibilities such as project management, budgeting and communications.
Ian loves travel, food, technology and fitness. His desktop is Windows, his phone Android and his tablet Apple, and is comfortable with being accused of hedging his bets. His most recent holiday was to Hawaii, and most recent culinary equipment purchase was a Weber grill. In addition, he owns all three current-generation consoles.
Ross works as part of our UK and European team and has been using PaperCut since early 2007.
Ross delivers a host of skills and options to the company, with experience in both pre-sales and after sales technical support. He has been involved in the print & copy management industry for all of his adult working life. Because of this he brings a different view to the table and can occasionally be heard issuing unreasonable demands on our development team.
Day to day he spends his time supporting our customers and resellers as well as resisting the urge to edit the spelling in our manuals and KB articles of such words as "color" and "organization".
When we allow him a day off, Ross spends his spare time running around after his tiny human. He enjoys looking at pre 1930's American motorcycles, gas pumps and anything else deemed as "classic Americana", especially 50's and 60's US muscle cars. Like all good geeks, he also loves most things Sci-Fi and Fantasy related and his favourite books are the Galactic Milieu series by Julian May. As part of a mid-life crisis, he has taken up running and yoga. It's possibly a hanging offence at PaperCut HQ, but Ross has never had a cup of coffee in his life. However he is a beer enthusiast.

John has a degree in Applied Science and a Diploma of Education. He first started working with computers in the 60's programming in ALGOL on paper tape. During a career in teaching John was involved with the integration of computers into the curriculum and finished his teaching as IT Manager/coordinator of a medium sized high school overseeing the development of a 200 workstation secure internet enabled network. It was in this final phase that John saw the need for a PaperCut style program ( the piles of waste around the printers were just too annoying!). Research of possible solutions revealed programs that were too labor intensive or too expensive - a local solution was needed and Chris was on hand and had the skills to deliver a tailored product.
John now works part time for PaperCut in Sales and occasional support, as well as running his own computer support consultancy. He brings to the business many years of experience in education and an in depth knowledge of school curriculum, operations and administration.

It's fast approaching Christmas and everyone is winding down but apparently not the excellent service from PaperCut! The online chat is fantastic and resolved my problem in short time. The product itself is amazing, want to have a Windows print server and a Mac secondary print server? No problem even for a technician.
I cannot remember the last time I was this impressed with customer service, it's nice to know there's a company that still values it's customers!
